The effect of water extract Chamerion Angustifolium L. (Fireweed) in a nutrient medium on the biochemical activity of bifidobacteria Bifidobacterium adolescentis DSM 283, as well as during their co-cultivation with Bifidobacterium longum B379M, was studied. It was found that the extract of fireweed has bifidogenic properties and accelerates the growth of biomass and growth of bifidobacterial cells. The maximum stimulating effect was found at a concentration of 30%. At the same time, the number of viable cells of bifidobacterium adolescentis DSM 283 by 15 hours of cultivation is 109 CFU/cm3, and upon co-cultivation of Bifidobacterium adolescentis DSM 283 and Bifidobacterium longum B379M 1010 CFU/cm3, which indicates an increase in their biochemical activity. It is noted that with a further increase in concentration to 40%, its bactericidal properties begin to prevail, which leads to a delay in the growth of bifidobacteria. Based on the data obtained, the optimal fireweed extract of 30% in the nutrient medium was selected, stimulates the growth of bifidobacteria, shortens the cultivation time and provides a high number of viable cells in the biomass.
