Democracy, authoritarianism, and values in Poland, Russia, and Ukraine

This study examines political culture in Poland, Russia and Ukraine. The research question is to what extend social-economic development of these nations as well as the changing values of the population affect political views of the people. The data analysis allows making the following conclusions. First, economic growth does not lead directly to formation of the democratic culture. Although the Russians, who experienced the economic boom in the 2000s, express a high opinion of democracy, as far as the specific parameters are concerned (approval of a strong political leader, subordination to the rulers, free elections, civil rights, gender equality), their views are distant from more democratic persuasions in Poland and Ukraine. Second, prominence of secular-rational views does not imply acceptance of the democratic principles. The Poles, the nation with a traditionally Catholic culture, demonstrate more democratic views than the Russians, the society where the atheistic ideology dominated for seventy years. Third, the contemporary culture of self-expression does, in fact, correlate with predominance of the democratic principles. Because freedom of choice implies absence of excessive restrictions, any restraints imposed by the government are met with disapproval and resistance of the people, moving society step-by-step towards a more democratic model. As our analysis indicates, the Poles have advanced on this path farther than the Ukrainians and the Russians. To the extent to which economic conditions in Russia and Ukraine improve, citizens of these countries would shift from the culture of survival to the culture of self-expression and to the more democratic views.

Dissolution of uranium from phosphorite by different solutions

The world average uranium content in phosphate rock is estimated at 50-120 g/tn. The U concentration ranges 10-27 g/tn in Mongolian phosphate deposits. The aim of this study is to improve quality of the activated phosphorus fertilizer. We decreased uranium concentration from 12g/tn till 3.9 g/tn in the milled phosphate raw by carbonate and citric acid solutions. This work demonstrated that sodium carbonate/bicarbonate uranium leaching process is selective and effective to extract 67,5% of uranium from Burenkhaan phosphate rock.

Distribution of potter wasps ( Vespidae, Eumeninae) in Mongolia

In this article we summarized distributions of 75 potter wasp species of Mongolia. Each species distribition were transfered into geographic information system (GIS) and drawn in map. New distribution points in Mongolia of 17 species were included.

Effect of natural zeolite on the compressive strength and freeze-thaw resistance of Portland cement

Effects of zeolites in various natural deposits as replacement cementing material on mechanical performance of Portland cement were studied. The blended cement pastes with zeolites were cured at room temperature in air for various durations (1, 7 and 28 days). Mechanical performance of the blended cement samples such as setting time, volume of water, compressive strength, normal consistency and freeze-thaw resistance of the mortar are determined. The optimal substitution ratio was 20 wt. % of zeolite for all ages of blended cement pastes. It is revealed by adding 20% of natural zeolite into Portland cement, that the compressive strength increased from 485 kg/cm2 to 690 kg/cm2. It is clear that mechanical-chemical activation of natural zeolite is effective way in preparation of blended cement with zeolite.

Eusocial and solitary vespoid wasps ( Hymenoptera, Vespidae) of Mongolia

Purpose of summarize species composition of Mongolian Vespidae, we performed field works and identified species samples which have been preserved in collection of Institute of Biology, MAS. Therefore we used associated published literatures to determine the full species list. Result of that 92 species of Vespidae which belonged into 24 genera, 3 subfamilies is listed. From these 7 species were recorded first for Mongolia and distribution informations of 26 species were updated by new points. There are high possiblity to increase species number of Mongolian vespoid wasps due to only couples of researches had been done till now.

Expression of concessive relations in the Korean language

Concessive relations in the Korean language can be expressed by many conjunctive affixes. Some of them may have not only concessive but also contrastive meaning. The difference between opposition and concession lies in the following fact - opposition implies that the speaker adopts the dependent predicative unit as an actual fact already exists in reality or fact in future recognized as actual. If the dependent predicative unit is irrespective to the reality of fact and suppose any action or statement, the concessive meaning is expressed here. Affixes -지 만, -(으)나, -아도 can replace each other when real fact is expressed by the dependent predicative unit. If the dependent predicative unit contain a supposed or impossible action, the use of conjunctive affix -지 만 and -(으)나 makes the sentence erroneous. Compound forms -(으)근망정 and -(으)근 지 언정 also express concessive meaning, when the speaker chooses a dependent action. The speaker, however, makes the choice basing not on sympathy but basing on the lack of desire to choose the major predicative unit. Sometimes, these concessive affixes are used in the contrastive meaning. In such sentences, the content of the dependent predicative unit is a real fact, and the affixes express opposition. Thus, we see that modality plays a significant role in the determination of the meaning of conjunctive affix. Depending on the speakers’ recognition of the content marked by conjunctive affix as real or unreal different meanings are expressed.

Forgiveness from victim and rationality in criminal reconciliation

Forgiveness from victims has major influence on the construction of restorative justice. Forgiveness can eliminate resentment so as to keep our life go on. Forgiveness can have offenders treated reasonably by victims and reestablish a new and constructive relation between them. Forgiveness is the foundation of criminal conciliation. Restorative justice advocates sensible, reasonable, legitimate rules of dispute settlement so that the reconciliation could be achieved rationally.

Gender difference in the use of Chinese compliments

The present investigation aims to find out the gender difference in the use of compliment strategies in Chinese. 15 boy students and 15 girl students in a Beijing university are randomly selectedwho are required to complete questionnaires. The girls use more direct (54%) and indirect (21%) compliments than the boys, who get 39% and 18% respectively, while the boys use more zero compliments (31%) and zero responses (12%) than the girls, who gel 23 % and 2% respectively. The explanatory factors include the psychological difference, socialization and distribution of power in society.

Homo loguens и процессы этнической идентификации

В статье авторы анализируют функции и возможности языка в процессах социальной идентификации индивида. Язык как маркер всего социокультурного поведения участвует в определении этнической ингруппы. Эта функция языка актуализируется в поликультурном социальном окружении. Иноязычная среда определяет особую значимость этноконсолидирующей функции языка. Лингвокультурные контакты в полиэтническом регионе одновременно являются формой диалога культур; «социальным зеркалом», обеспечивающим выявление специфических черт культуры собственной этногруппы; средством интеракции, которое позволяет провести рефлексивное проектирование самости культуры; фактором этноконсолидации; условием развития кросс-культурной компетентности. Взаимодействие языков на общей территории есть действие диспозиции «свой язык - иной язык», которая формирует автостереотипы и способствует осознанию гетеростереотипов этногруппы. Данные выводы построены на результатах авторских исследований критериев определения родного языка респондентами, проживающими в Иркутской области (2011-2018). Несмотря на объективное распространение инструменталистского подхода в философии языка, не меньшее значение в современных условиях имеет философско-культурологический подход, который рассматривает язык как единство эмоционально-оценочного, сенсорно-рецептивного, логико-понятийного, ценностно-нравственного компонентов обыденного сознания носителя языка. Приоритетность философского понимания языка приписывает этничности значение коммуникативного ресурса, определяющего не только речевое, но и социальное поведение. Язык является доминирующим фактором в системе этнической идентификации индивида.

Human hair of chronic viral hepatitis and liver cirrhosis patients in Ulaanbaatar were analyzed for elemental analysis by total X-ray Fluorescence spectrometry. Positive strong correlations were observed among the elements [Ti=f(Pb), f(Cu)], [Cu=f(K), f(Ti)] and [Sr=f(K), f(Fe)]. The mean concentrations of Ca, Fe, Ti and Sr were found higher than those in the hair of normal people in Japan, Mongolia, Iran and Indonesia though the level of Cu and Zn is not different. The concentrations of Ca, Ti and Sr in hair of the patients were found to be increased over that of normal Mongolian people reported by other researchers.

Electrochemical methods were applied to study the anodic behavior of gold in alkaline thiourea solution in the absence and presence of Nа 2SO 3. Gold is highly soluble in acid thiourea in the presence of Fe (III) oxidant. But, gold is difficult to dissolve in alkaline thiourea solution because of the elemental sulfur passivation produced by the irreversible decomposition of thiourea. However, addition of Nа 2SO 3 accelerates the selective dissolution of gold in alkaline thiourea solution. Nа 2SO 3 additive improves the stability of thiourea in alkaline media, enhances the anodic polarization current of gold greatly, and does not change the passivation states of the associated elements of gold in alkaline thiourea solution. During dissolution of gold in alkaline thiourea solution the coelements of gold do not show any hindrance. Identification of the optimal condition of gold dissolution process in alkaline thiourea was carried out. It is the solution of 0.5 mol/l of Nа 2SO 3; 0.1 mol/l of thiourea in temperature of 323 К, and pH value of 12.5. In kinetic study, gold dissolved in alkaline thiourea solution with Nа 2SO 3 and the activation energy was 26.79 kJ/mol and it’s respective potential was 0.24 V.

Leachability of arsenic by sediments in Boroo area, Mongolia

The leachability of arsenic and other constituents was studied by a diphasic distribution technique. Chemical analyses were carried out using particle-induced X-ray emission spectrometry and ion chromatography for aqueous phase. Showed that these sediments contain Hg, Se, As and Pb at different levels along with other metals. A 10-20 ppm level of As (III) was released by one of these samples into aqueous solution at higher pH values.

Logic of non-interacting programs and reactive systems

The notion of a program logic is introduced to denote a set of predicates which are true in different program points. The program logic can be easily constructed for different kinds of statements of an imperative or a functional language with data types except pointers. For a non-interacting program, a total correctness formula based on the program logic is defined. The rules of program correctness proof have been developed for proving the statements of various kinds. For a reactive system, the program logic is defined as a predicate on program state variables which is true after executing the current action of a trace constructed as a sequence of interleaved actions from different parallel interacting processes. An action is a maximal program fragment (without loops) of a process source code for which the program logic can be easily constructed. To analyze the behavior of a reactive system, the notion of a meta-state is introduced to denote an approximation of logic for a set of traces.

Since 1990 in countries and regions favorable circumstances have emerged on globalization of accounting thus its data templates have become identical. In the framework of the globalization process and its history, many countries started to pay significant attention to structural reform of economy, management renovation data and information perfect network, quality of products and services including cost efficiency. One big example of these has been Southeast Asia and China’s economy has grown, the regional labor and material processing has grown and capital assets consumption reached to USA and Japan level. Hence, they started leading the economy and globalization competition. These have been explained with management registration methods were it has been introduced in industry and services. In this article aimed to define management development tendency, it’s importance based on the summary research of foreign researchers’ managerial accounting comparative study.
