Лечение пациентов пожилого и старческого возраста с переломом проксимального отдела бедра базируется прежде всего на комплексной медицин­ской потребности и социальных нуждах данной демографической группы. Главной задачей является ранняя мобилизация, в целях предотвращения осложнений, связанных с длительным лежачим положением и вернуть пациенту функциональной активности. Существует почти всеобщее согласие среди хирургов-ортопедов, что переломы шейки бедра требуют фиксации, но хирургическое лечение в данной популяции пациентов приносит с собой множество вопросов, требующих ответы. Настоящая статья рассматривает риски хирургического вмешательства у пациентов пожилого и старческого возраста с переломом проксимального отдела бедренной кости и имеет глубокий взгляд на основе фактических данных в сложных ситуациях, возни­кающие при ведении этих пациентов.
