This article describes the features of the organization of socio-psychological and pedagogical activities with foster families in the adaptation period. The authors analyse psychological and pedagogical literature on the problem, the concept of "foster family", the main features and characteristics of the foster family and the personality of the child left without parental care, as well as the peculiarities of the adaptation process of the adopted child in a family. Foster care involves a number of difficulties of emotional, behavioral, social and psychological nature. The article presents the data of social and psychological study of the adaptation process of the child in a foster family and proposes the forms and methods of socio-psychological and pedagogical activity with it. The results obtained and the conclusions prove that the success of social adaptation of children-orphans and children left without parental care in foster families depends on the use of socio-pedagogical technologies and early psychological support and assistance during the period of adaptation of the child and the experience of a relationship crisis...
