The aim of the research is to consider the structural and semantic features of the short story La telaraña by Manuel Zapata Olivella in the context of Latin American linguistic culture and the difficulties of its translation into Russian. The scientific novelty of the research lies in a comprehensive analysis of the specifics of creating a field of artistic discourse, not only forming meanings and style, but also coordinating the communication of the author, translator and reader. The compositional and linguistic structure of the La telaraña story is described. The features of the transmission of linguistic manifestations of the objective world in the semiotics of story and autopoiesis of meanings are characterized. Special attention is paid to the language design of the translated text. The results obtained show that in order to preserve semantic information at the level of a phrase or a wider context during translation, the translator is forced to select those equivalents that will fully recreate the world of everyday life of Colombians and convey the features of the nationally specific vocabulary of the Colombian national variant of the Spanish language.
