Введение. Изучение зооморфных орнаментальных мотивов на конкретных типах поливной керамики - важное направление византийской археологии. В данном случае нас будут интересовать изображения рыб, которые встречаются на нескольких типах византийской поливной керамики второй половины XII - второй половины XIII века. Поскольку керамическое производство этой группы сосудов являлось отдельной областью, как материальной, так и духовной культуры византийцев, особенно в указанный хронологический период, именно она выбрана в качестве предмета исследований. Источниковую базу работы составляют все опубликованные и доступные материалы археологических исследований как Константинополя, так и городов византийских провинций. Особое внимание уделено соответствию каждого из выделенных изображений на конкретном типе поливной посуды находкам на территории средневековой Таврики. Несмотря на публикацию использованного материала, в том числе крымского, в комплексе эти находки не анализировались. Методы и материалы. Использованы стандартные методы сравнительного стилистического анализа. Анализ. Использование большого количества источников позволяет впервые поставить вопрос о существовании в рамках одних и тех же ремесленных мастерских нескольких стилистических групп изображения рыб.
