Proverbs and adages with zoonymic components in Greek paremiology

The purpose of the research is to examine the origin of zoonymic symbolism in the paremi-ological background of the Greek language. To achieve this goal, the following tasks were set: to evaluate the motivation behind proverbs and adages with zoonym components; to investigate the allegories in comparison to the human world; to highlight several thematic groups and to conduct a brief analysis of the most common zoonymic components.
