The author explores ethnic and cultural situation in Parfyonovo village of Altai Region in the first third of the twentieth century, where lived the Siberian old residents and migrants of South Russian (Kursk) and Ukrainian (Chernigov) origin. The article is based on field materials of East Slavic ethnographic expeditions 2005-2016. Trying to figure out what factors influence the transformation of identities, the author analyzes the orientation of wedding ceremonies transformations. The phenomena of cultural interference is shown as «like amplified like» and, on the contrary, a significant difference of ethnic traditions leads to their weakening. Mechanisms of cultural interference contributed to the development of common village traditions.
