Correlation of academic and personality traits of university students

Academic motivation as one of the basic phenomena associated with educational activity enhances its productivity and contributes to the students' performance improvement. Various researchers have revealed interdependency of some types of motivation and psychological features of the subject. The article is devoted to analyzing the empirically obtained correlations of academic motivation and personality traits of university students. It is stated that students with a higher level of intrinsic motivation demonstrate more socially acceptable traits in comparison to students with mainly extrinsic motivation.
