Wartime censorship monitoring of the mail correspondence at the Odessa district’ post and telegraph office during the First World War

The paper considered establishing and developing of wartime censorship monitoring bodies at the Odessa District Post and Telegraph Office during the First World War. The study showed post officers and telegraph operators at work who have provided a satisfactory performance of their duties despite difficulties of the wartime. The author paid a special attention to establishing of a legitimate censorship control over the postal communication round the district that restricted spreading of adverse information and leak of strategic military data abroad.
