Of trapping in indigenous inhabitants of north-eastern Siberia (second half of the XIX - early XX centuries)

Бесплатный доступ

The paper considered general forms of trapping used by indigenous people of the North-Eastern Siberia while being affected by the commodity-monetary relations that penetrated to the region. Intensive growth of the fur trade led to modification of existing forms of trapping arrangement. The author has revealed that at the beginning of the XX century an individually arranged trapping expanded to become the main way of producing furs. The study has determined that cooperation of small producers still played its part in arranging fur production, but under the pressure of lending operations distribution of the fur produced depended on both the amount of debt and an interest rate imposed on a fur trapper.
