Уровни суицидов и назначений антидепрессантов: неоднозначные взаимосвязи

Популяционные исследования выявили обратную временную связь меж назначениями антидепрессантов новых поколений и уровнями самоубийств (УС) в ряде стран. В социально-демографических группах высокого риска (как пожилые) связь более выражена. Затуманивающими зависимость факторами служат уклонение от лечения, изначально низкий уровень УС (как у женщин), злоупотребление спиртным. Причинно-следственная связь антидепрессант-УС строго не доказана, но исследования подчеркивают важность количества и качества терапии депрессии как компонента типовой программы профилактики суицидов.
