The article analyzes the results of the study of the level of the Bulgarian language by 1,296 pupils of the fourth Year of the primary school (living in different regions of Bulgaria and belonging to different ethnic groups), applying the criterial test, and taking into account the requirements of state educational standards and mother tongue educational programs in primary school.
