Статья посвящена анализу основных теоретических подходов, существующих в современной гуманитарной науке, к рассмотрению процесса инкорпорации иммигрантов в принимающее общество. Основное внимание уделяется анализу трех основных теорий: ассимиляции, мультикультурализма и транснационализма. Автором делается вывод о том, что теория иммиграции тяготеет к междисциплинарности и рассмотрению проблематики коммуникации иммигрантов и представителей принимающего общества с индивидуально-групповых, социетальных и политических ракурсов внимания.
