The article presents a comprehensive study of the essence and theoretical foundations of Freinet’s pedagogy, including analysis of the social, historical and pedagogical conditions of the teacher's creativity. The author identifies and justifies a number of theoretical propositions, accented by C. Freinet in his system that reveals his particular understanding of the nature and development of the child.
