Связь между безработицей и промышленным производством: подход Фурье со структурными сдвигами

Цель работы заключалась в исследовании долгосрочной связи между безработицей и промышленным производством во время структурных сдвигов в Соединенных Штатах Америки. Для анализа этой связи использовались ежемесячные данные индекса промышленного производства и информация об уровне безработицы в период между январем 1948 и октябрем 2018 года. С помощью KPSS-теста стационарности Фурье была обнаружена стационарность используемого временного ряда. Это позволило провести анализ, в том числе при наличии структурных сдвигов. Однако ни в одном ряду стационарность не наблюдалась. После этого был проведен коинтеграционный анализ Фурье - Шина с целью установить долгосрочную связь между индексом промышленного производства и уровнем безработицы. С учетом времени и формы существующих структурных сдвигов результаты этого теста отличались от других. Согласно коинтеграционному анализу, существует долгосрочная связь между уровнем безработицы в США и переменными индекса промышленного производства. Следовательно, внезапные структурные изменения индекса промышленного производства оказывают влияние на уровень безработицы в США в долгосрочной перспективе. После этого использовался метод наименьших квадратов со сдвигами Баи - Перрона, для того чтобы установить периоды структурных сдвигов и их коэффициенты. Было обнаружено, что подобные изменения происходили в 1958, 1974, 1990 и 2007 гг.
