Socio-cultural environment of high school as a condition of formation competence of students (on the example of ecological competence formation of students training direction 38.00.00 “Economics and management”)

Education for sustainable development is based on an understanding of environmental issues, personal responsibility for the use of resources, management of individual sectors of the economy based on ecological knowledge. There is a need improve the environmental dimension of sustainable development concept in the educational program of preparation direction 38.00.00 "Economics and Management". In the study was formulated by the author's interpretation of ecological competence as a person's ability to act and take decisions within the environmental context, be able to think and act on a global level to anticipate the longterm and indirect consequences of their actions. In order to promote sustainable development of the society in various aspects of their life. Formation of ecological competence involves the consistent integration of various activities in the socio-cultural environment of high school: inclusion in the curriculum of environmental disciplines and use of interactive learning technologies in the educational activity; involvement of students in solving social and environmental issues of local, national and international level in the framework of extra-curricular culture-educational activity; the formation of the ability to analyze the economic, social and environmental problems from the standpoint of sustainable development in the implementation of the research activities. The article describes the structure of the socio-cultural environment, the mechanism of formation of ecological competence students in economic high school. This study is an example of the implementation of the ideas of sustainable development at the regional level. The presented approach motivates students to work for sustainable development.
