Social support as an innovative family-saving technology: from the experience of Primorsky krai

The article presents the results of the introduction of innovative technology social support for families with children in Primorsky Krai. Social support is a new type of state assistance to the family, which has an interdepartmental character and is aimed at preserving family resources, providing the family with the necessary types of assistance (legal, social, employment assistance, treatment and education). The curators of this technology in the region are specialists from social rehabilitation centers for minors: psychologists, social pedagogues, and family work specialists. To provide effective assistance to families with children in all territories of the region, Coordination Councils for social support have been created, which together with the family consider the causes of a difficult life situation and develop an individual program of social support. An important criterion for the effectiveness of the technology is to increase the activity of the family in working to get out of difficult life situation, the willingness of parents to interact constructively with experts from different departments. The activity of the Resource Center for Social Support of the Family, performing a methodological and educational function in the Primorsky Territory, contributes to the increase of the professional competence of the specialists of the Territorial Social Support Services and the translation of the best social practices. The most popular types of assistance are assistance in finding employment, in solving housing problems, in treating and educating a child. As part of the social support of the family, a system of early help for families raising children with special needs is developed, as well as technology for system work with families in need of help and support.
