Relevance. Most foreign and domestic researchers prove that the mortality rate of patients with severe mental disordersis excessively high. Patients with mental illness die about 10-20 years earlier than the general population. Most systematicreviews show that mortality from all causes in psychiatric patients is 2-3.5 times higher than in the general population. Objective of the study: to study the structure of mortality in persons who were under psychiatric dispensary supervision andwho died in the Irkutsk Region in 2020. Materials and Methods. Information about the patients who were under psychiatric dispensary supervision and who died in the Irkutsk Region in 2020 were obtained from the following available sources:Regional Medical Information System (RMIS) of Irkutsk Region, Medical Information and Analytical Center (MIAC) ofIrkutsk Region, territorial body of the Federal State Statistics Service for the Irkutsk Region (Irkutskoblstat), form 025/y“Medical record of a patient receiving medical care on the outpatient basis”. Results. The total number of patients whowere under the dispensary supervision of psychiatrists and who died in 2020 was 398 individuals. The average life expectancy of psychiatric patients was 58.9±18.6 years.
