The article deals with the problem of the essence and criteria for professional development of the Internal Affairs agencies’ officers. The results of the empirical research attempted to study dynamics of the professional self-image among cadets of the law institute of the Russian MIA are given. The research results can be employed for monitoring professional development of the cadets of educational institutions of the Russian MIA.
