Professional motivation as a factor of professional development of state civil servants

The article examines the problem of professionalism and motivation for professional development of state civil servants. It is shown that values, motives and attitudes play a key role in shaping the personality of a professional, motivating his / her professional achievements and professional development. In the course of the empirical study, a typological problem was solved and the structure and types of professional attitudes of the state civil servants (specialists of the city district administration) were identified. The results of an analysis of the state civil servants’ professional attitudes (by type of professional development and nature of professional activity) are presented. Recommendations are given on the use of the results obtained in the practice of personnel services of executive authorities for the purpose of professional development of the state civil servants.
