In this article we made a brief review of the world literature on the application of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in renal cell carcinoma, its possible complications, criteria of its effectiveness and present our own experience. We treated 26 patients with renal carcinoma: 14 women and 12 men, their average age was 62 years. The tumors size ranged from 0.8 to 6 cm, the average size was 3,2 cm. The ablation was carried out by bipolar electrodes under sonographic control. No complications were observed during the procedure. Subsequently sonographic monitoring was performed every 3 months. Relapses of the tumors were not noted. The results obtained allow to recommend RFA as an alternative treatment for those cases of renal cell carcinoma, in which surgical treatment is contraindicated.
