The knowledge of the past pedagogical reality

The article is devoted to the problem of the past and present pedagogical reality. The pedagogical past can be considered as a part of the pedagogical present. In this view, it turns out that it is the pedagogical past that sets the coordinate system for the pedagogical present (pedagogical concepts, values, ideas, stereotypes, knowledge, practices, institutions, the idea of the pedagogical reality, the understanding of what is innovative in pedagogy). That is, the pedagogical culture created in the past forms the pedagogical present, initially determines the position of a person in it. History of pedagogy is necessary in order to identify this pedagogical past, relate them to each other, if necessary, to oppose them to each other.
