The author considers the practical issues of the resettlement of emergency housing, the solution of which is complicated by the problem of determining the amount of compensation for withdrawn residential premises. It offers the basics of unified methodological recommendations for determining the redemption price of premises from an unsuitable housing stock, which indicate the procedures for calculating the market value of an emergency residential building, determining the size of the land required for the operation of an apartment building, determining the size of the share in compenstion for failed major repairs and calculation of the amount of losses of the owner of the premises.
