The relevance of the article is due to the fact that in the context of globalization, the survival and prosperity of any nation depends largely on the preservation of the cultural and natural environment, the compliance with the elements of traditional lifestyles which have formed their cultural and psychological image and spiritual and moral world. Pedagogical potential of ecological traditions as a part of the ethnic culture is initially ecological, and it includes the values possessed by the artifacts of culture and the ethno-pedagogical experience. The authors understand the educational potential of ecological traditions as a holistic developing system of interconnected and interdependent features of the environment that can influence on personal development. It includes pedagogical values, ideas, content and tools which are a set of opportunities influencing the development of personality. A teacher as a culture transmitter affects personal human development, standards and ways of transferring the experience. The article represents the peculiarities of the Yakut ecological traditions that are reflected in all cultural aspects and have an impact on the formation of the spiritual and moral culture of the personality.
