Features of patriotic education of college students in the process of forming professional competencies

In the current socio-economic and political situation, the patriotic education of young people, including students, is an urgent problem. Despite the fact that considerable attention is paid to the solution of this problem at the state and scientific levels, the issues of determining the signs of patriotic education, the environment for its implementation, methods, results and, most importantly, the conditions for the formation of a personality - a patriot of the state, remain unresolved. In the article, based on the results of methodological analysis, patriotism is considered as an environment for the education and socialization of the personality of students in secondary vocational education organizations, patriotic education is defined as a way of activity of teachers and students in the process of socialization of the individual, patriotism is the result of patriotic education. At the same time, the success of patriotic education is ensured by the implementation of a set of such necessary and sufficient conditions, such as: a combination of personal, collective and state significance and usefulness of the competencies being formed (a necessary condition); the formation of a patriotic environment as a phenomenon by giving a patriotic meaning to the words, actions, activities of each person, team and state (sufficient condition); identification and education of authoritative leaders who are an example of patriotism as a phenomenon, meaning and action (sufficient condition). The implementation of these conditions can be performed in the process of vocational education of students of organizations of secondary vocational education. At the same time, the set of conditions is considered as necessary and sufficient.
