Recently, the interest of specialists in quality management to the methodological basis of their science has significantly increased. This surge of interest is caused by the apparent delay for the given community of the theoretical elaboration of avalanche-like accumulated empirical material. As a result, the effectiveness of empirical research itself is also decreasing, since it becomes more difficult to articulate their initial hypotheses, to give scientifically grounded explanations for the effects obtained in the experiment, to predict the development of certain phenomena, and, in the end, to offer recommendations adequate to the problems to be solved in the applied and practical sectors of management quality. However, the storming of the theoretical heights of quality management must be supported by the general scientific foundations of the methodology of cognition. It is especially important to know the general principles of cognition and their concretization in management. This article presents a phenomenological analysis of the problem of methodological scientific principles, provides a meaningful definition of methodological principles and presents their classification.
