The article is devoted to the regional management of the hotel industry in terms of its modernization and development according to the principle of sustainability in the conditions of transition to a green economy and ensuring its competitiveness. The author considers the positive and negative features of the hotel industry development. The article analyzes its development in Syria and identifies the main problems and its prospects in the context of economic recovery in the region. Taking into account the current economic situation, the author proposes a system for ensuring the sustainable development and competitiveness of the hotel industry d. It covers all aspects of sustainable development and green economy, includes leading players in the sector which form interrelated elements of sustainability and enhance the competitiveness of the hotel industry, tourism and the region as a whole.
