On some ethical and pedagogical problems encountered while working with successful students

This article analyzes some ethical and pedagogical problems encountered by higher school teachers while they evaluate the work of the students during seminars or their exam results considering their academic performance variation. The problems analyzed in the article are hardly new, however, at the beginning of the XXI century the question of fairness in assessing the results of students' work is extremely important. During last decades, this aspect of the teacher's work has not been simplified, on the contrary, more and more difficulties arise. The growing standardization of education hardly helps to systematize the teacher’s work in this regard. This article examines several dilemmas, which teachers face in their daily work, and offers some lines of thought, which may lead, if not to specific conclusions about the fairness or unfairness of certain decisions, then at least to greater clarity when making difficult decisions.
