Scientific and technological foresights of Russia: regional aspect

A priority direction in the management of the scientific and technological development of a region (STDR) is the use of opportunities that actively involve modern technologies for managing the development of a region and the most common among which in the world practice is a foresight. In modern conditions the developed countries are expected to determine the priorities of their scientific and technological development in order to maintain their leading positions in the most promising sectors. The analysis of world technological leadership made it possible to reveal that the growing role of regions in the world economy and the regions need to search technologies, methods, and ways of their adaptation to environmental changes. The processes of globalization in the world economy contribute to the increase of the competitive status of regions which in turn determine the level of the country’s competitiveness.
