The paper examined in comparing the authentic mosaics from the Torcello Cathedral (located at the western wall and the southern chapel of it) with the Byzantine manuscript miniatures of early Comnenian period. The author revealed some similarities of style between these mosaics and miniatures. On the grounds of observations the author assumed that the dating for the Torcello mosaics referred to the early XII century and has attributed the mosaics to the Constantinople (?) artists.
