The logos of Heraclitus as a measure of personal self-identity

The article examines the origins of philosophical consideration of the personal identity issue. The author focuses on the existential-hermeneutic potential of the Delphic dictum “Know thyself’, which reveals the duality of human nature and encourages the search for genuine measure of self-identity. In the context of this search the author explores the doctrine of logos developed by Heraclitus.
