Categories of selection and choice: experience of philosophical conceptualization of biological notions

The article deals with the problem of different interpretations of the mechanism of development, which is conceptualized through the specifics of the concepts of «selection» and «choice». According to the author, the concept of «choice» does not capture the peculiarities of the action of a progressively directed developmental mechanism that reveals unique features. The perspective character of the definition «selection» implies fixation not so much of the manifestations of elimination, expressed in the category «choice», as the opportunity to see something unique that can be concrete evidence of complication.
