The paper considered evolution of artistic concepts of Postmodernism in the architecture of deconstructivism. In deconstructive architecture that was widespread in the 1980-ies, attitude towards the consumer became more radical, often even aggressive. Deconstructive architects were engaged into a thorough study of challenges the contemporary architecture has faced, in search of new shapes. Based in their search on philosophy by J. Derrida and his principle of deconstruction, and taking into account experience of the avant-garde of the 1920-ies as well, they resorted to decomposition of an object and its further reconstruction in a new shape.
