Historical paradigm of Russian-Armenian geopolitical relations (the case of participation of Armenians in Russian Masonic lodges in France, 1919-1939)

The aim of this article is to study some aspects of the life of Armenian emigrants from Russia Empire. The Armenians, who before the revolution were in the Russian Empire, didn't accept October Revolution 1917. Many of them decided to go away from Armenia and Russia. They went to live in France in the 1920s. In France they had social-political life and took part in the Russian Mason' lodges («Astreya», «Zolotoe Runo», «Svobodnaya Rossia», «Severnaya zvezda»), which were organized in France in the 1920-s. The aim of these lodges to create the socio-political changes in Russia and Armenia in future. Armenian masons were «pro-Russian» and «pro-imperial» political ideology. They think about the future of Armenia with the connection with Russia, but not the Soviet Union. Political views of Armenians influenced on their relationship with the other Caucasian Masons, for example, with the Georgians. Among the Armenian masons were very famous personalities in Imperial Russia, for example, S. Lianozov, A. Khatisyan. The author of this article described the Armenians living in France, not the members of Masonic lodges, but which also had a "pro-Russian" views. In addition, the article described the idea of the Confederation of Peoples of the Caucasus. According to this idea of the Caucasian peoples planned to create their own States. In this article were studied the attitude to the idea of Armenian emigrants. This article was prepared on the basis of new archival material, which the author found in the archives of masonic lodges in France. The article is considered the period of the Russian Masonic lodges in 1920-1960-ies.
