Use of ash mixtures in road construction

Бесплатный доступ

Investigations of the main characteristics of the ash and slag mixture of Ulan-Ude Central Heating and Power Plant (CHPP)-2 have been carried out and a conclusion has been made about the possibility of its use as a component of a mixed cement binder for strengthening subgrade soil. X-ray phase analysis of the ash-and-slag mixture showed the presence of amorphous and crystalline phases (quartz, mullite, hematite) in the ash-and-slag mixture. Optimization of the compositions was carried out and the physical and mechanical characteristics of strengthened soils were investigated using ash and slag mixtures, Portland cement, calcium chloride and a superplasticizer on a polycarboxylate basis. The microstructure of the strengthened soil has been investigated by scanning electron microscopy.
