The Model of the Evolution of the Knowledge Content and Contemporary Science Education Crisis

The Model of the Evolution of the Knowledge Content and Contemporary Science Education Crisis

Tadeusz Wibig, Punsiri Dam-o

Статья научная

We try to diagnose the situation in science education in the beginning of the 21st century. The coincidence of the occurrence of the global science education crisis and rapid acceleration of development of the science itself allows us to derive a differential equation describing basic patterns of development of human knowledge, using a few quite obvious parameters defined by social and biological determinants of the given moment in history. We then examine the proposed solutions of the general educational problem. Predictions about the evolution of knowledge/science give us the ability to reject some of them, and the analysis of social needs, seems to lead to the one, which we called a "three-way system".

The Optimal Principle of Stable Solutions in Lexicographic Cooperative Games

Mindia E. Salukvadze, Guram N. Beltadze

Статья научная

Neumann-Morgenstern’s solutions NM (v) as stable solution’s optimal principle is stated in a lexicographic v = (v1, v2 ,..., vm)T cooperative game. The conditions of NM (v) existence are proved for the cases, when: 1. v1 scalar cooperative game’s C-core C (v1) and NM (v1)solutions are equal; 2. Scalar cooperative v1 game’s C-core and NM (v1) solutions are different. In the first case the sufficient conditions are proved in order to say that a C-core C (v) of a lexicographic cooperative v game must not be empty and it should be coincided to NM (v) . In the second case the necessary condition of NM (v) existence is proved. In the case of the existence of NM (v) solutions their forms can be established. Some properties NM (v) of solutions are stated.

Chi-Wu Huang, Ying-Hao TU, Shih-Hao Liu, Hsing-Chang Yeh

Статья научная

This paper presents an image encryption instead of text to observe the block cipher modes of operation of the complex AES processing. A platform is built based on the mode operations for the experiments. The cipher image of ECB may appear patterns due to the identical color inputs. CTR and MCTR make those identical inputs different by adding counters to remove the patterns while CBC, CBF, and OBF do it by adding serious Cipher function outputs which are almost random numbers. The mode features resulted from adding number series and the ways of addition, are discussed and compared, which help to design the Switching Control to configure all the modes into a platform for the AES mode operations and image test.

Статья научная

Computers are perceived as an important tool in the world of education. Computer technology today when used in teaching and learning could open the world to students. However when learning is concern, emotions relevant to learning should not be forgotten. Thus emotional intelligence should be considered when computers and learning is concern. There is very little research on the effect of emotional intelligence on learning and on technology. As learning with technology relates to computers, thus this study focuses on the relationship between emotional intelligence and attitudes towards computer. Based on this study it was found that emotional intelligence of the polytechnic engineering students was average and their attitudes towards computers were positive. The relationship between emotional intelligence and attitude towards computer is positive but very weak. Significant difference were found when gender was compared however CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) and ownership of computers did not affect this relationship.

The Relationship between Slack Resources and Performance: An Empirical Study from China

The Relationship between Slack Resources and Performance: An Empirical Study from China

Heping Zhong

Статья научная

Although organizational research posits various relationships between a firm’s slack resources and performance, findings to date have been ambiguous. The purpose of this study is to attempt to reconcile previous views of the relationship between slack resources and performance through employing empirical analysis based on survey data from 47 pharmaceutical and chemical firms in Henan Province of China. The results indicate that the relationship between slack resources and the performance is inverse N-shaped. Results provide evidence of a curvilinear relationship between slack resources and performance and broadly demonstrate that relationships differ based on industry circumstances and slack resources. Additionally, this study is the first to empirically identify an inverse N-shaped relationship between slack resources and performance, indicating that, in certain industry circumstances, little and much slack resources are bad for performance. Overall, results highlight the importance of additional research into intervening factors impacting the slack–performance relationship.

The Solution of Scalar Bimatrix Games in Preferred Pure Strategies

The Solution of Scalar Bimatrix Games in Preferred Pure Strategies

Guram N. Beltadze

Статья научная

In the present work the task of finding Nash equi-librium situation or finding the most preffered pure strategies in finite scalar m x n bimatrix Γ(A, B) game is studied. The problem of finding an equilibrium in the Γ(A, B) game has a long history, but due to the complexity of the known algorithms and methods, that cause various problems, its study is being continued today. Our approach is different from these methods. In order to find an equilibrium situation in the pure strategies, we mean making a prediction by each player about the second player's behavior for choosing preferred pure strategy. Therefore we use a sequential strictly and weakly procedure of dominance for comparing of two pure strategies. Only in the case of strictly dominance the line of dominance has no meaning in order to maintain an equilibrium situation in pure strategies. We don’t have such kind of situation in every game. In this kind of game each player can act by different principles to define the most preferred pure strategy, that is based on making a prediction about his partner’s behavior by the player and that means the orientation on guaranteed levels in concrete situations. We mean the orientation in A and B matrix games average V(A) and V( BT) playoffs obtained by the players using maximum optimal mixed strategies. Each player’s decisions are discussed about the usage the preferred pure strategies related to his partner’s actions. By using them he will gain much more, then in an equilibrium situation. All kinds of other actions are also discussed. Acceptable results are used for solution of high ranged m x n (m>2, n>2) Bimatrix Γ(A, B) games.

The Stability of Equilibrium Situation in Lexicographic Strategic Games

The Stability of Equilibrium Situation in Lexicographic Strategic Games

Guram N. Beltadze, Jimsher A. Giorgobiani

Статья научная

The present work deals with lexicographic noncooperative (strategic) games in which the set of strategies of the players are metric compact spaces and the vector-functions of winning are continuous on the set of situations. In such games we introduce the definition of a weak nonstrict (determined by usual nonstrict lexicographic inequality) of Nash equilibrium situation in pure strategies. It has been defined the stability of such equilibrium situation and of lexicographic noncooperative game in relation to change of vector-functions of the winning of players, a problem of an equilibrium stable situation and availability of lexicographic noncooperative game has been studied. The conditions of their stability have been brought. The identification of the indicated conditions has been connected with those features of the task of lexicographic maximum that differs from the task of scalar maximum: the set of points of lexicographic maximum in the task of lexicographic maximum of continuous vector-function defined on metric compact is compact. And in the lexicographic noncooperative game the set of equilibrium situations may not be compact. In particular, it is certified that if in lexicographic game there is only one equilibrium situation then it is a stable situation and the relative game is stable.

The Stability of Memory Rules Associative with the Mathematical Thinking Core

The Stability of Memory Rules Associative with the Mathematical Thinking Core

Xiuzhen Wang, Weiquan Gu

Статья научная

Activation of how and where arithmetic operations are displayed in the brain has been observed in various number-processing tasks. However, it remains poorly understood whether stabilized memory of Boolean rules are associated with background knowledge. The present study reviewed behavioral and imaging evidence demonstrating that Boolean problem-solving abilities depend on the core systems of number-processing. The core systems account for a mathematical cultural background, and serve as the foundation for sophisticated mathematical knowledge. The Ebbinghaus paradigm was used to investigate learning-induced changes by functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) in a retrieval task of Boolean rules. Functional imaging data revealed a common activation pattern in the left inferior parietal lobule and left inferior frontal gyrus during all Boolean tasks, which has been used for number-processing processing in former studies. All other regional activations were tasks-specific and prominently distributed in the left thalamus, bilateral parahippocampal gyrus, bilateral occipital lobe, and other subcortices during contrasting stabilized memory retrieval of Boolean tasks and number-processing tasks. The present results largely verified previous studies suggesting that activation patterns due to number-processing appear to reflect a basic anatomical substrate of stability of Boolean rules memory, which are derived from a network originally related to the core systems of number-processing.

The Strategic Performance Measurements in Educational Organizations by Using Balance Scorecard

The Strategic Performance Measurements in Educational Organizations by Using Balance Scorecard

Thitirath Cheowsuwan

Статья научная

The Balanced Scorecard has been adopted as a management and measurement system around the world. It is adopted as a measure to assess the efficiency of an organization's activities. The Balanced Scorecard measures four dimensions of organizational activities – internal processes, financial, external customers and learning and growth perspective. These focus on critical issues impacting modern business organizations that are the effective measurement of corporate performance and evaluation of the success of implementation of corporate strategy. This study explores the Balanced Scorecard as applied in higher education through a case study of the, School of Information and Communication Technology, Phayao University. This study seeks to explore the application of the Balanced Scorecard as a measurement system and its effectiveness in organizational evaluation within the School. In identifying a strategy to implement the Balanced Scorecard within the School each dimension is considered such as internal processes, financial, internal customer and learning and growth. This research began by examining practices in place and linking them to a Balanced Scorecard approach. The intention is being to identify administrative and tracking systems for performance measurement within the School. A model is then identified to collect data across the dimensions of the balanced scorecard, and performance criteria identified. In implementing this phase scores will be associated with performance within the four dimensions. This will enable an evaluation of the model, contribute to software improvement and assist users in conducting accurate and effective strategic planning. It is then hoped to implement the model within the School in strategy plans and operation of the School to improve the assessment of the performance, and identify areas of improvement and change that is desirable.

Chin-Ting Chou, Chien-pen Chuang, Bin-yong Zheng

Статья научная

With the contributions of computer technology, digital learning has evolved into a stage of mobile learning. However, school classes require teachers to perform face-to-face humanized lectures. Digital learning remains to function as a tool for assisted teaching. Few studies have investigated what proportions digital learning should occupy in teaching activities. In this study, to investigate the optimal proportion of face-to-face instructions and digital learning, we conducted a one-semester teaching experiment on two classes of students in the informatics department in a public vocational high school in Taipei City. In addition, the Kruskal-Wallis one-way analysis of variance was adopted for the statistical analysis to determine the optimal blending proportions. Our results indicate that optimal effects are achieved at a time ratio of 2:1 of traditional face-to-face teaching to digital learning.
