The article examines new approaches to the analysis and study of value and motivation aspects of the person’s activity determining innovation. The author conducts the comparative empirical research of value and motivation characteristics of students with different levels of innovativeness. Basing on the thoroughly described strategy of the research and its results the researcher reveals significant characteristics of value and motivation sphere of the student youth.
