Geometric parameters of a cutting apparatus for shredding potato tubers

One of the main geometric indicators that ensure the crushing of juicy vegetable raw materials (f odder, sugar and semi-sugar beets, rutabaga, turnips, carrots, potatoes ) into pieces in the form of a parallelepiped to the sizes that meet the zootechnical requirements is the angle of inclination of the counter-cut of the root crop chopper. A justification is given for the action of forces on tubers in a stationary frame of reference in the process of cutting potatoes, the shape of which is assumed with some assumption to be in the form of a ball. Based on the laws of mechanics, the authors obtained an analytical expression of the value of the optimal angle of inclination of the counter-cut of the cutting device of a particular chopper, depending on the size of the tuber, the height of the horizontal knife departure and the coefficient of friction force. By setting the values of these parameters, you can perform a full theoretical and practical analysis of the limit value of the angle of inclination of the counter-cut of the cutting device and its effect on the rolling of the tuber and pinching.
