The article tells about the history of Yalta, its recreational opportunities and attractions, its modern problems and possible solutions. The aim of the work is a reflection of the most pressing problems in the Big Yalta, which directly affect the development of a modern resort. Lack of un- derstanding of historical and cultural significance of architectural monuments of the Crimea, including Yalta, in single options was the reason of the destruc- tion or alteration of monuments. And currently, the lack of funding does not give the opportunity to restore some of the monuments of architecture, and sometimes leads to their loss. The image of this resort in our day is radically changing in the conditions of constant influence of anthropogenic and technogenic load. Among the main problems are: 1) chaotic territory development; 2) transport problems (quality and dimensions roads, parking lots, gas concentration); 3) flower decoration of city center (creating mixborders, flower beds, groups of trees); 4) incom- patibility of styles of the embankment (appearance coastal areas); 5) state of beaches. Yalta in its climatic and cultural-historical features belongs to the resorts of the German type, combining the rich history and culture with the use of rec- reational resources. Resolving the basic problems of the resort will provide its modern operation, will give a powerful impetus to entrepreneurial activity in the tourism sector.
