The scientific article is devoted to the analysis of the phenomenon of terrorist activity in modern society from the point of view of socio-psychological and economic aspects. The co-authors share the point of view of the famous French philosopher Jean Baudrillard, who believed that today, with the help of a terrorist reversal, all singularities (tribes, individuals, cultures), who paid with death for the establishment of a global turnover of everything and everything controlled by a single power, are taking revenge for themselves. Thus, the article presents an analysis of the main directions of terrorism, as well as approaches to combating them. The co-authors analyzed the main directions of the study of terrorism and the prospects for its study. Today terrorism has become a seriously destabilizing social-economic and political situation in Russia, European countries and a real threat to the national security of many countries. The most common tool of terrorist activity is blackmail or intimidation of government bodies and the population, the danger of killing people, causing extensive property damage, or the onset of other publicly dangerous consequences, carried out in order to violate public security and influence government decisions that are beneficial to terrorists. At the end of the scientific article, the co-authors formulated practical recommendations for increasing the effectiveness of the prevention of terrorist manifestations in modern societies. One of the most popular measures, according to the co-authors’ position, are educational actions, cultural-educational and organizational-technical measures.
