В данной статье идет речь о деятельности политика США - Хью Лонга на посту сенатора США в период с 1932-го по 1935 год. Поскольку этот период политической жизни Х.П. Лонга фактически не освещался в отечественной историографии, а упор делался на изучении его дви- жения «Раздел богатств», анализ деятельности в Сенате дает представление о Лонге, как незауряд- ном политике, раскрывает слабые и сильные стороны его программы, иллюстрирует политичес- кие цели и амбиции Хью Лонга.
