Бог и рынок: «невидимая рука» Адама Смита

Образ «невидимой руки» занимает центральное место в современных дебатах о функциональных возможностях рынков, образующих основу для многих других дискуссий, посвященных различным темам деловой этики. Тем не менее, значение этого понятия в трудах самого Адама Смита остается довольно туманным, особенно в тех случаях, когда речь идет о религиозных ассоциациях, очевидных современникам ученого. Он использовал теории божественного действия и промысла Исаака Ньютона, опосредованные характерным для шотландских общественных кругов XVIII столетия умеренным кальвинизмом. В контексте общей провиденциальной точки зрения Смита на рынки в статье утверждается, что действия «невидимой руки» направлены на ограничение неравенства и оттока капитала, следствием которых становится повышение степени устойчивости рыночной системы. Предлагаемое понимание «невидимой руки» поднимает вопросы для современных религиозных и светских дискуссий, в которых затрагиваются проблемы влияния глобального финансового кризиса на функционирование рынка.
