The article discusses the essence of teacher's authority, the classification of the types of pedagogical authority. The author analyses the factors affecting formation of the teacher's authority, such as: level of development of particular personal qualities (pedagogical tact, exactingness, sense of justice), definiteness of social (as a citizen) and professional (as a specialist) attitude, individual style of pedagogical management, use of personal example.
