Agrarian colonization of Lower Amur river region: Russian and Korean-Chinese agricultural experience

On the basis of archival and published data the article is discussed the features of farming systems appeared among different groups of the rural population in the Lower Amur region in the course of agrarian colonization in the second half of XIX - early XX centuries. The author undertakes a comparison of the Russian and Korean-Chinese traditions of processing and cultivation of land, highlights the results of the discussion on the relative merits of the Cossack and peasant colonization, revealed the characteristic features of the old residents and later settlers economy.
