The article considers the need and expediency of considering the forensic characteristic in the system of a private methodology for investigating fraud in the field of construction at the expense of the federal budget. At the same time, the author proposes an argument in favor of a separate consideration of the circumstances to be proved when describing the features of typical methods of committing the considered category of crimes as a separate element of the forensic characteristic.
