Protection of the rights of persons sentenced to imprisonment at the modern stage of the Russian penal system development

The article analyzes the main trends in the development of the penal system of the Russian Federation at the present stage. It identifies problems associated with the formation and implementation of penal policy. Using the system analysis the author suggests the basic directions of human rights policies to solve the problems under consideration.
