«Sophisticated wanderer» (the investigative case of Ivan Trevoga - the prisoner of the Bastille)

In 1783, after moving to Paris, I. Trevoga, a Russian subject, started pretending to be the prince of Golkonda. Later he was imprisoned in the Bastille and then transferred to the Secret Senate Police of Saint Petersburg. The present article is devoted to the analysis of the case of I. Trevoga, found in the Russian State Archive of Ancient Acts.
