Existential introductions in Russian poetry of XVII-XX centuries: experience of grammatical and functional-semantic description

An experience of structural, semantic, functional, and compositional description of existential introductions containing the predicate “IS/ARE” is presented in the article. The author reveals growing dynamics in the use of existential initial statements. The increase in the use of existential introductions was observed starting from the middle of the XIXth century up to the beginning of the XXth century. Active employment of some noun groups - nominations of existential subjects, localizers, and quasi-localizers was also noted.
