Age and tissue specific sensitivity of pro-and antioxidant systems of carp fishes to impact of heavy metals

The age-related features of oxidative - antioxidant system of carp fishes tissue at the impact of heavy metals (Cd2+, Pb2+, Mn2+) mixture are investigated. The most intensive growth of MDA in all tissues observed were one-year-old age. The activity of components of pro- and antioxidant system of fish tissues reveals the age dependent. The total antioxidant activity of the liver and kidneys is highest at three years old, whereas in the remaining organs its activity is prevalent in yearlings. Catalase activity in juveniles is most pronounced in the brain and liver, in the kidneys - yearlings, at three years old - in skeletal muscle. Under the impact of heavy metals mixture in the juveniles is relative balance of lipid peroxidation processes, whereas yearlings in all organs compared with yearlings, the accumulation of MDA is not enough offset mechanisms of antioxidant protection. At three years old carp shown more resistance to toxic stress in skeletal muscle against the backdrop of deterioration of other organs.
